Review

It is the beginning of a new year at Macdonald Hall and the headmaster,
Mr. Sturgeon, complains to his wife that nothing about the school
surprises him anymore. Because there are no more challenges left for
him, he figures that it is time for him to retire. Nothing is new about
practical jokes’ being played at Macdonald Hall, but when bizarre
pranks start happening and the usual culprits, Bruno Walton and Boots
O’Neal, deny any wrongdoing, that is something new and unexpected.
Bruno, Boots, and their friends attempt to find the “phantom” joker,
but when they do it is a shocking revelation that they must keep to
themselves.

This seventh book in the Macdonald Hall series is full of hilarious
antics and laugh-out-loud comedy. Unfortunately for old fans of the
series this is not a new title, but a reprint of Something Fishy at
Macdonald Hall (1996). For a new generation of readers, it is a fresh
chance to experience classic good fun and to get to know the extremely
lovable characters of Bruno and Boots. Highly recommended.
