Review
This book, written by an opthalmologist and a medical journalist,
examines how our eyes function, what might go wrong with them, and ways
of correcting problems, including near- and far-sightedness, cataracts,
and glaucoma. Explanations are concise but not simplistic, and examples
are used to show how a condition might manifest itself. Well-labeled
line drawings complement the text; unfortunately, the text does not
refer the reader directly to a drawing, so some hunting is necessary. A
comprehensive glossary is provided for readers who are unfamiliar with
medical or anatomical language. Endorsed by the Canadian Medical
Association, Eyes is a well-organized, clearly written, and
user-friendly resource book.
