Review

This well-written and effectively illustrated book covers the more than
70 mammals that are found in the Rockies. Supplementing the main text is
a glossary, a checklist, and detailed references. (Conspicuously absent
is any sort of guide to animal droppings and footprints.) The volume is
a great credit not only to the authors (retired professionals with
accomplishments in biological education, conservation, and photography)
but also to other individuals and agencies (including the Canadian Parks
and Wilderness Society and Heritage Canada) that contributed to its
production.
