Review

This manual provides school personnel with basic information on many
health problems encountered by children and adolescents. The book’s
three sections are devoted to first-aid, health problems encountered in
schools, and communicable diseases. A variety of general disorders and
diseases are discussed in terms of causes, signs and symptoms,
treatment, and management within the classroom setting. The manual,
designed as a supplement to health information provided to the school by
parents and medical authorities, will be an indispensable aid to
teachers, administrators, and support personnel in dealing with some of
the primary health issues that affect children and adolescents. A copy
should be available in all schools.
