Review

Award-winning author Diane Swanson adds two new titles to the Welcome to
the World series, introducing us to frogs, toads, alligators, and
crocodiles. These books immediately draw the reader in with captivating
photographs and an inviting page format. Swanson balances her text with
animal facts, informative sidebars and picture captions, and a friendly
dialogue with the reader. Each book touches on animal movement, diet,
habitat, communication, reproduction, and mating. Young children will be
amazed to learn that alligators purr, crocodiles lived 110 million years
ago, spring peepers have see-through vocal sacs, and a single toad can
eat as many as 10,000 insects.

All animal enthusiasts will enjoy these books. Highly recommended.
