Review

Seven- to 11-year-olds who share their lives with companions of the
canine persuasion will have a great time documenting that relationship
with My Dog. This scrapbook/journal/first guide invites young dog owners
to look at their pets in an analytical manner, and gives them an
opportunity to practise novice skills in scientific observation.

Each two-page section offers a mixture of colorful and cute
illustrations, useful tips on dog training and care, and insights into
dog behavior. A special space is provided in each section for readers to
record their own findings on their pet’s habits, from eating to body
language.

This book would make an excellent acquisition for the young dog
enthusiast. It encourages children to adopt responsible dog care and
training concepts, and allows them, even at this young age, to feel that
they are important participants in the daily care of the family pet.
Highly recommended.
