Review

Welcome to the original animal house. It could be a hollow stump, a pile
of leaves, a mound of rocks, or even the proverbial hole in the ground.
It may not look like much to a human, but often these humble digs are
home to a variety of animals. In this companion book to Whose Feet Are
These?, professional nature writer and photographer Wayne Lynch
challenges the reader to guess what kind of animal lives in a particular
critter house.

Sounds easy? Not quite. For example, a photo of a termite mound is
matched with the clue “I like to crawl inside the tunnels to escape
from the heat of the sun and the sharp eyes of the hawks and eagles that
hunt me.”

Young readers looking for an entertaining way to brush up on their
nature lore will find this winning combination of beautiful photographs
and informative text a great pick. Highly recommended.
