Review

The central thesis of this book is that molecules within body cells
vibrate at certain frequencies, thereby creating energy fields that
maintain health. When the vibrational fields are disrupted, the result
is disease—specifically, autoimmune and stress-related illnesses like
chronic fatigue syndrome. By manipulating energy fields and by using
plant-based medicines (plants, being living organisms, impart a
vibrational energy to their medicinal components that makes them more
effective in curing us), we can restore the flow of energy and thus
achieve health.

If the concept sounds difficult to understand, the book does little to
clarify it. The writing is clear enough, but the author wanders off
topic by introducing arcane topics with little introduction (e.g., life
is actually a hologram), by inserting personal anecdotes and case
studies of patients, and by offering a field guide to some of the more
common herbs he uses. Like many alternative medicine proponents, he
invokes science when it suits his argument and dismisses it when it does
not. He provides no glossary and no references to the papers he used to
support his theory. The diagrams are poorly explained.

Since this is a “theory” book rather than a self-help book, the
aforementioned problems do little to help the cause. Without some prior
understanding of the topic, it is difficult for the reader to ascertain
how vibrational medicine actually works, and how using it helps people
become well. Converts to the theory will like the book, while opponents
will not. Those trying to sort out what vibrational medicine actually
means will likely be frustrated.
