Review

This well-organized book provides a wealth of information on how to best
achieve and maintain a healthy working dog. There are useful tips on
subjects ranging from muzzling, to giving medications, to carrying an
injured dog. Especially good is the section of the book that explains
how to care for an aging dog while still allowing it to continue in some
aspects of its working life.

In addition to pictures and diagrams that serve to enhance the text,
there is a useful table of contents, a detailed index, and an extensive
bibliography.

The main drawback is the lack of information on areas such as the
heart, lungs, and digestive/ reproductive systems—an astonishing
omission in a book with the words “complete care” in its title.
