Review

Jean Porche, a former teacher, is a prolific writer, reader, and
“channel.” Deborah Vaughn is an Anglican priest and the author of
spiritual works, including “Stressbusters!” and her “Points of
Light” column. The pair, known as the Angel Ladies, are popular
speakers and workshop leaders.

Psychics and Mediums in Canada offers, among other things, a history of
psychism in Canada; discussions of tarot, astrology, and other forms of
divination; and advice on everything from finding a reputable
practitioner to developing your own psychic abilities. The book (which
is nothing if not comprehensive) includes psychic exercises, profiles of
24 Canadian mediums or psychics, a list of further reading, and
information about resources (psychic bookstores and organizations,
practitioners, spiritualist churches, holistic expos, psychic fairs,
etc.).

You don’t have to be a true believer to enjoy Porche and Vaughan’s
intriguing look at the often misunderstood world of psychics and
mediums. All you need is an open mind.
