Review

Located on the east coast of Vancouver Island, about an hour’s drive
north of Nanaimo, the Comox Valley has much to offer tourists and
residents alike. Breathtaking seascapes and mountain views, quiet rural
countryside, the bustle and amenities of the population centres of
Courtenay and Comox—the valley has it all. Organized into chapters by
community, this beautiful pictorial guide extends to the smaller
villages down the coast (Union Bay, Royston, Fanny Bay), the offshore
islands (Denman and Hornby), the rivers, forests, and agricultural
areas, and the snow activities of Mt. Washington. It captures the
essence of the region, combining an album of outstanding colour
photography, a well-researched and engaging local history, and a
contemporary introduction to the area.
