Vancouver, B.C., is surrounded by, and contains, spectacular wild
settings. The Coast Mountains, Fraser Valley, and Fraser Canyon lie to
the north and east. The western boundary is the Strait of Georgia, with
Vancouver Island, the Gulf Islands, and the Sunshine Coast beyond. The
cities to the south occupy the flatlands of the Fraser Delta along with
marshes, bogs, and rich farmland that extends to the Canada–U.S.
border. Within Greater Vancouver itself, Stanley Park, Pacific Spirit
Park, and Lighthouse Park offer acres of accessible natural rainforest
and coastline. The whole area has special appeal for Graham Osborne, who
has spent much of his life here and established his reputation as an
outstanding photographer of landscapes, wildlife, and the outdoors.

More than 100 of his large-format images grace this stunningly
beautiful coffee-table book, each one a masterpiece of the colour
photographer’s art. They are united and enhanced by biologist Richard
Cannings’s sensitive descriptions of the various ecosystems that
surround the views and wildlife depicted.
