Review

Learning to Learn is just one of many books now on the market that
provide students with guidance on improving their school performance in
a variety of areas: managing time, note-taking, library and research
skills, reading strategies, learning, and writing essays and exams.

The book is essentially a collection of worksheets that can be
photocopied for classroom use. Most of its content has already been
explained in the many other published sources. On top of that, no two
students study for tests or take notes in exactly the same way. What
works for one student will not necessarily work well for another.

More emphasis on modification and different approaches would have made
Learning to Learn stand out. Teachers who teach study skills or similar
courses and even parents of struggling students may find the book
helpful, but overall its educational contribution is limited.
