Review

Potluck meals are a wonderful opportunity to try new recipes, and more
than 100 await sampling in this new addition to the ever-popular
Company’s Coming collection. They include appetizers, salads, main
dishes, side dishes, and desserts, all generously proportioned and
chosen for easy transportation and survival on the buffet table. They
also present well and complement one another, as shown in the numerous
mouth-watering coloured illustrations of “theme” buffets featuring
the dishes.

There is much good advice for potluck organizers and participants:
planning a well-balanced meal; organizing the buffet tables;
transporting hot and cold dishes safely; and ensuring that the food
remains appetizing and free of spoilage for the duration of the meal.
Like other cookbooks in the Original Series, this one is designed for
ease of use in the kitchen with a softcover lie-flat plastic-comb
binding. Ingredients lists are in bold type, with both imperial and
metric measures. Methods are straightforward and quite detailed. Each
recipe includes nutritional information for one serving. Yields are in
the “family and guests” 6- to 12-serving range, with suggestions for
dividing the servings into even more portions to suit buffets for larger
gatherings.
