Review

Christopher Page is an Anglican priest, a retreat leader, a teacher, a
newspaper columnist, and an exponent of a technique called prayer
centring. If one were challenged to find a central core in the teachings
of the Christian Church, the Beatitudes and the Lord’s Prayer
immediately spring to mind. The problem with these two main tenets of
Christianity is that they are so well known that one is inclined to
think there is little new that can be said about them.

Christ Wisdom brings a fresh perspective to these foundational
Christian scriptures and uncovers in them a deeper meaning that affects
the Christian life. Page views the texts not merely as a set of
intellectual rules. His thoughtful and insightful book is essentially a
prayerful reflection on sacred texts. The book is full of practical
advice and spiritual exercises that are designed to help readers
integrate the teachings into their everyday lives.
