Review

The introductory map shows 80 ghost towns scattered throughout British
Columbia, 10 of which are featured in this volume. The rise and demise
of these towns, the lives of their notable former inhabitants, and the
adventures of the researchers exploring them are well suited to the
Amazing Stories series format. The stories are short, popular treatments
of real historical places and events that pique interest in the
province’s history and encourage readers to explore on their own. The
selections in this volume come from all over the province and include
well-known sites such as Barkerville, New Denver, Cassiar, Britannia,
and Leechtown. Bite-sized history, enjoyable and easy reading.
