Review

For the busy person who carries an imperfect version of Canada’s Food
Guide somewhere near the top of his or her guilt list, this book is a
Godsend. It begins with a 10-page summary of healthy, low-fat nutrition,
featuring useful charts and summaries, and advice to help integrate
healthy eating with the realities of life in the 1990s.

Nearly 200 healthy, low-fat recipes are presented for all kinds of
foods and for every meal and snack. Most recipes include a nutrient
analysis that can be used in connection with the introductory advice
about healthy, balanced, low-fat eating. Each section includes realistic
advice that recognizes the demands and habits of modern life.

This cookbook will become an important staple on the cookbook shelf of
anyone concerned with healthy eating.
