Review

People who feel pressured into making a major production of Christmas
will find this slim book useful as a guide for structuring their
“attack plan.” Shopping, gift wrapping, party planning, decorating,
tree trimming, and creating festive foods are among the activities that
can be simplified and organized with Vanderlinden’s time-saving tips
and detailed how-to instructions. Overall, the emphasis is on saving
money through making gifts, trims, and food at home; family togetherness
is the solution to stress and budget management. Although there’s
little if anything new or unique in this material, there’s merit in
the work in that it collects Christmas how-to pointers and recipes
together for easy, convenient access.
