This is a good general introductory book for those who are beginning to
take an interest in antiques and collectables. The scope is rather
limited, but the illustrations are excellent and the book has a useful
and well-designed index.

In a work of this nature, which mentions a large number of items, there
is insufficient space for background information on the objects, and so
this book should be used for preliminary identification only, with
further reference made to a more specialized text.
