Review

Move over, muffins! With nearly 70 delectable varieties to choose from,
cupcakes could easily become the family’s new favorite home-baked
snack food. This unique collection has recipes for all occasions and
every taste, from healthy high-fibre, fruit, and vegetable choices to
party-pretty treats and decadent chocolate delights.

Each recipe comes complete with helpful icing and decorating
suggestions drawn from the 30 frosting and topping recipes included in
the collection. A few errors in page references are easily overcome by
consulting the index of recipe titles. Ingredients and quantities are
set out clearly in bold type, with both imperial and metric measures. An
adjustment guide is provided for those baking at altitudes of more than
3000 feet. Methods are concise, arranged in easy-to-follow short
paragraphs. Most recipes can be mixed and baked in under 30 minutes,
with yields in the 16–24 range. Mouth-watering color photographs and a
selection of party ideas provide inspiration.

An attractive, practical addition to the kitchen bookshelf.
