Review

Chef Langlois’s special interest in nutrition led her to develop this
collection of 144 healthy, flavorful recipes for home use. These are
good-for-you foods that also taste and look good.

The recipes cover the entire menu, from soup to pudding, with a
selection of made-from-scratch snack foods, breads, and condiments on
the side. While some of the ingredients, such as agar and various soy
and rice products, may be difficult to find except in health-food
stores, the recipes encourage substitution and variation. Food allergy
sufferers and those on restricted diets will find many of the recipes
suitable for their special needs.

Both imperial and metric measures are provided, but the recipes have
been tested using imperial measures only. Yields are generally in the
range of four to six servings.

The book is spiral-bound to lie flat on the counter, and includes an
index by recipe titles and type of food.
