Review

This charming collection of homely lifestyle vignettes will appeal to
readers who love ordinary, down-home Ontario. More than 100 literary
snapshots offer heartwarming, quietly happy discussions of such heroic
ordinary folks as farmers, craftsmakers, and artisans as well of those
with interesting and different hobbies and occupations.

The author, Terry Culbert, is described as “Global Television’s
first one-man band. As a cameraman/reporter, he travels the entire
province producing his own lifestyle and human interest stories.”
County Roads presents a large selection of those stories. Although the
book is enjoyable to read, the text would have benefited from more
stringent editing.
