Review

WordPerfect has become the word-processing standard perhaps
because—with respect to many basic operations—it is not simply
user-friendly but downright user-affectionate.

This book is a simple, straightforward, self-help guide for the
WordPerfect novice. It relies heavily on pictures, rather than text, for
instruction. The headings, which faithfully use WordPerfect terminology,
are clear and easy to follow. Once readers have completed the exercises,
they should have a reasonable mastery of basic WordPerfect usage. This
guide requires that readers have access to a computer with WordPerfect
software, as the approach is very much hands-on.

WordPerfect is, however, sophisticated software, with features and a
capacity going far beyond what this guide covers. (Some observers have
noted that most users seldom use more than 30 or 40 percent of
WordPerfect’s features.) This guide will not transform readers into
WordPerfect experts, but it will enable them to approach more-complex
WordPerfect features with a much greater confidence and competence.
