Review

This beautifully produced book describes the best restaurants,
bed-and-breakfasts, and hotel accommodations in the Niagara area and
features culinary offerings from local chefs. The profiles of the 44
bistros, cafés, cafeterias, inns, and fine restaurants in hotels are
interesting and original.

The recipes, which emphasize local produce, fish, meats, and regional
wines, vary in complexity. They assume some culinary expertise, but
include preparation tips and fine photographs of the finished
presentations. Especially apt is the chef’s suggestion of a Niagara
VQA wine to accompany each dish. An excellent map of the region is
another of the book’s useful features.
