Subtitled The Complete Guide to 600+ B&Bs Throughout New Brunswick, PEI,
Nova Scotia and Newfoundland, this handbook, printed on poor-quality
paper, comprises four chapters—one for each province. Each chapter is
arranged geographically by community. An alphabetical listing of the
towns shows what may be found near one’s chosen destination.

The guide provides no general information on the provinces, parks, or
interesting areas to visit within the provinces. (This is not a guide to
help anyone who does not know the area to plan a holiday.) Individual
listings are short and impersonal, and stick to data, with minor
exceptions. The major headings for each are location, “features,”
rates, and contact details. Features might include “meals on
request,” “pets welcome,” “non-smoking rooms available,” and
“beautiful gardens.” There are no illustrations.

Atlantic Canada Bed and Breakfasts is a useful handbook for touring in
Eastern Canada, but travelers will need to supplement it with
information on areas worth visiting. Provincial tourist bureaus might
fill this gap.
