Review

This is the third in a series of thrillers featuring Katy Klein, a
psychologist, astrologer, and single mother. Still experiencing
flashbacks and nightmares after her adventures in Jupiter’s Daughter,
Katy joins her Internet pen pal and fellow astrologers at an island
retreat near Ottawa. She sees this retreat as a chance to relax, but the
gathering turns sinister when a wealthy visitor to the island dies in
bizarre circumstances. Soon Katy and her teenage daughter, Dawn, are
drawn into a web of corruption involving the Russian mafia and Katy’s
ex-husband, an investigative journalist. In a gripping and shocking
conclusion, Katy faces a life-and-death decision that will change her
forever.

Mars Eclipsed is a tightly paced, if not always believable,
page-turner. If you like mysteries with a twist, you will certainly
enjoy both this book and its two predecessors. But read Pluto Rising
(1999) and Jupiter’s Daughter (2000) first for explanations of events
referred to in Mars Eclipsed.
