Review

The protagonist of this mystical thriller is Dominic Wilson, an
expatriate Canadian who runs a company in Hong Kong. A former
journalist, Dominic cannot resist traveling to Gyatso (a mythical
Himalayan nation) in search of a mysterious author reported to live in
the city of Bon. He finds the author, gets his interview, and is
preparing to leave when he is informed that his flight has been
cancelled and the airport closed. Dominic is moved from the tourist
hotel to a location that resembles a military installation. Back in Hong
Kong, his Filipina wife and their two children try to determine his
whereabouts.

The increasingly complex story builds to a conclusion that does not, in
fact, resolve everything. House on Fire demands an open mind and great
tenacity.
