Review

With this collection of short stories, Begamudré establishes himself as
a major new talent. The range of his stories is vast. They take place in
Canada, in Europe, and in India; they dwell in the celestial realm of
Vishnu or in a Regina take-out. Begamudré writes, “To be eccentric is
to be natural, and to fear our eccentricities is to fear our
humanities.” His writing is infused with the mythology of ancient
India, but his characters are from present mists of time.

The common thread in this work is one of isolation and
misunderstanding. One can travel 5000 miles or never leave home, yet
possess a unique personal history and filter all experience through its
mesh.

This young new Canadian writer is highly recommended.
