Review

The tragic death of Owen Hart at a World Wrestling Federation event in
1999 marked the beginning of Martha Hart’s painful efforts to rebuild
her life without her soul mate, and equally painful search for the truth
about the circumstances leading up to her husband’s death. The first
third of Broken Harts focuses on Owen and Martha’s almost fairy-tale
romance (it began in high school), the chaotic lifestyle of Calgary’s
“royal family” of Stampede Wrestling, and the sleazy world of
professional wrestling. The horrific accident and Martha Hart’s
relentless pursuit of justice occupy the balance of the book. It is a
must-read for fans of professional wrestling.
