Review

This is a handy book of wise reflections on choosing to live life well.
The author integrates his own life-changing choices and experiences with
wisdom drawn from Buddhist, Sufi, contemporary, and other sources.
Thoughtful integration gives the book a depth that is sometimes missing
in the self-help and inspirational-reading field. The basic messages,
like much that is true wisdom, have been said often: choose to live life
fully in the now; experience gratitude for the life you have; extend
loving kindness to others; choose to be happy, for happiness is a
choice. These are presented in clear and powerful ways, aided by
pictures and quotes in a well-produced, hardcover format. Read simply as
a book, this is a short and interesting volume. Used as the starting
point for reflecting on one’s own life, it may be a productive
touchstone of progress and a connection with a fellow journeyer.
