Review

The 23 women poets represented in this nicely conceived and carefully
compiled book have been judiciously chosen. The poems themselves display
a strong sense of place, as well as a broad range of interests,
sensibilities, points of view, and poetic techniques. Transcripts of
interviews conducted by the editor give the reader a sense of the person
behind the writing. This highly readable, accessible, and instructive
book would be particularly useful in courses dealing with contemporary
writing in Atlantic Canada.
