Review

Although its title suggests this is a murder mystery, and it is true
that there are two unexplained deaths, it is more a story about life in
a small Ontario town: Brock’s Landing on the shores of Lake Ontario
near Niagara-on-the-Lake.

The events of the novel revolve around the opening of a new Centre for
the Performing Arts for which a gala occasion has been planned,
including a visit from HRH The Prince of Wales. The bickering and
maneuvering for position this gives rise to are described with insight
and wit. (The description of the royal visit alone is worth the price of
the book.) The same insight is devoted to describing the character of
the townspeople. The mysterious deaths are resolved along the way. An
interesting and highly entertaining read.
