Review

For those who enjoy challenging trivia, live for rock-and-roll, or just
have a casual interest in music, this large, easy-to-read collection
will satisfy. Crouse provides a veritable feast of information covering
five decades of rock-and-roll music. He serves up facts, dates, and
anecdotes in a question-and-answer format that entices his readers to
challenge their fellow music aficionados. Answers that are almost a full
page long are provided for such questions as “Which alternative bass
player helped designer Christian Francis Roth put together a line of
‘grunge’ clothes in 1992?” and “Who did Elizabeth Taylor call
‘the least weird man I have ever known’?” A 12-page index
complements the detailed answers. Crouse’s entertaining and
informative book affirms his contention that rock-and-roll fans today
want to read about something more substantial than “Elvis’s
favourite foods.”
