Review

This novel’s point of view alternates between two women: Beth, a
fortyish, stay-at-home mother and wife who once worked in the PR
department of a large bank but dreamed of being dancer on Broadway, and
Rachel, an ambitious 30ish advertising executive who is sent to Toronto
to open a branch office. For a short time, they are neighbors and become
confidantes. Rachel has set her heart on seducing an old flame, a hockey
hero who now owns an upscale fitness club. Beth is mildly jealous at the
sight of these two elegant younger people, until she meets an old flame
of her own.

The importance of not forgetting youthful dreams is the subtly conveyed
message of this delightful, often humorous novel.
