Review

Each of these three volumes in Les Vandor’s Legal Counsel series is
based on the law in Ontario. The format of each book is straightforward:
questions and answers on a given topic are supplemented with topical
excerpts from recent Ontario court decisions and other relevant
material. Vandor, himself a lawyer, has done a reasonable job of
distilling thousands of pages of legal texts and court decisions into a
concise 50-page summary of each issue. The Legal Counsel series is not
intended as a substitute for the services of a lawyer for people who
find themselves faced with a legal issue. They do, however, help to
demystify the legal process and, as a result, may be used by litigants
and prospective litigants in tandem with professional legal advice.
