Review

This slim volume lists 45 biking trails, and was three years in the
making. The trail descriptions are brief, with little or no detail
except for the essentials: location, difficulty, length, and access to
camping and nearby accommodation. With the addition of a small map (not
detailed), the unit is complete. The Forks of the Credit Provincial
Park, for example, has two trails totalling 5.5 kilometres and is
reached from Highway 10.

The author has divided his selections into central, northern,
southeast, and southwest regions of the province, and has included most
(if not the best and most picturesque) areas of the province, from Port
Thomson in the north to Rondeau Park in the south. Unfortunately, the
maps are so small and cursory that they may be of little use except to
help in deciding whether to take a trip at all. One can, however, always
get more information at the trail sites or from the parks board, whose
phone numbers or addresses are listed.

For the biking enthusiast, this effort could well serve to provide
several years of novel travel destinations. Look for an annual or
biannual update as more bikers write in with their favorite routes.
