Review

Ever wonder which goalie allowed Wayne Gretzky’s first professional
goal or who replaced Don Cherry as coach of the Boston Bruins or who
scored the first overtime goal in the history of the Philadelphia
Flyers? If so, you will find these two books of hockey trivia
interesting and entertaining. In addition to nearly 400 questions, each
book contains several brief essays on such subjects as the 1967 NHL
expansion, the World Hockey Association, the Montreal-Boston rivalry,
and the history of the Flyers. The 1970s Quiz Book will, of course,
appeal more to the general hockey fan than will the specialized Flyers
Quiz Book. Both books are part of a series of hockey trivia books
launched by Dan Diamond and his team of researchers following their
immensely successful Official NHL 75th Anniversary Commemorative Book.
