Review

This visual reference book has no text. The Best of Masterfile consists
of a large collection of small color photographs, placed typically six
to a page and arranged by theme. These can be ordered by clients, for a
fee, using the catalogue numbers provided and a toll-free telephone
service. Groupings include maps and globes, earth and stars, business,
people, sports, travel, science and technology, industry, farming,
animals and weather. Professional photographers include Daryl Benson,
John de Visser, J.A.Kraulis, Freeman Patterson, and many others. Quality
is excellent.

Educators might use these images as teaching tools. The section called
“Abstracts and Concepts,” for example, could spark discussions,
drawings, and original stories. Sections are color-coded at the side for
quick location.
