Review

Rosemary Neering has been writing about British Columbia for more than
two decades. In this coffee-table book, she showcases the province in
all its splendor. The work is divided into sections covering Vancouver,
Victoria and the Gulf Islands, the Okanagan and Thompson valleys, the
Rocky and Kootenay mountains, the North Coast, the Cariboo-Chilcotin,
and the North. Each section includes a brief introduction on the
geography and history of the area, and features several
photographs—mainly majestic landscapes and awe-inspiring wilderness
shots, with a few archival, urban, and recreational ones. The
photographs are well-chosen and the captions informative. All in all, a
superb production.
