Review

Dedicated to Peter Brock, one of the world’s leading historians of
peace and pacifism, this book consists of 23 essays on aspects of the
field ranging from theoretical approaches to peace history, to
evaluations of the various Christian and Indian traditions of pacifism
and nonresistance, to more recent considerations of pacifism in the
modern world. Carefully edited and well written, these interesting and
accessible essays will allow even the lay reader to gain an appreciation
of the ongoing scholarship of dissidence and resistance to warfare.
