Review

Henry Waszczuk and Italo Labignan are well-known personalities in the
sports-fishing world. They host a regular television show and publish a
fishing magazine. They’ve been to many of the locations in this
guidebook and have caught their share of big fish.

This glossy wish book for the sports angler lists the hot spots—lots
of which are in Canada—for catching big fish. The book’s two
sections, which cover freshwater and saltwater fishing, feature
descriptions of 35 game-fish species; each description is illustrated by
a photograph and a line drawing of the fish and accompanied by
scientific information about the fish. Also included in the book are
stories and descriptions—which are not wild exaggerations—and catch
record accounts, which are accompanied by some dazzling photographs. The
names and addresses of guides, lodges, and provincial or state agencies
(where appropriate), as well as lists of recommended equipment, are
provided in sidebars.

A useful and informative book for those in quest of big fish.
