Review

Glen Stedham, the author of Bush Basics (1997), which has become the
essential guidebook for many B.C. wilderness campers, has 30 years of
canoeing and kayaking experience, everywhere from the Arctic to Mexico.
He brings this wealth of knowledge to The Vancouver Paddler, a
trip-by-trip guide (53 trips in all) to every conceivable
canoeing/kayaking opportunity in the Vancouver/Greater Vancouver area
(which includes the area east to Hope and north to Squamish). There are
a great variety of trips for both beginning and experienced paddlers;
the trips cover flat water and white water and range from urban
proximity to wilderness areas.

For any paddler living in or around Vancouver, this excellent guide is
a “must-have” resource. It covers all aspects of trip planning and
includes great maps, driving directions, detailed river information and
warnings, photographs, and plenty of geographical, natural, and cultural
anecdotes and highlights.
