Review

The Canadian rock band known as the Guess Who achieved international
success long before the emergence of such homegrown superstars as Bryan
Adams and Céline Dion. Featuring interviews with most of the band’s
members, this book chronicles the history of the Guess Who. It is a
story replete with devious managers and intragroup power struggles, most
notably between Burton Cummings and Randy Bachman.

Einarson has done a good job of reporting the band’s ups and downs
and of describing the Winnipeg music scene. An extensive discography is
included in this enjoyable book, which would be an excellent reference
for aficionados of popular music.
