Review

Even the most benign of the tales in this fascinating collection of
ghost stories is filled with horror. The author cleverly intersperses
her narration of other people’s stories with personal observations
about, for example, the never-ending treasure-hunt on Oak Island, Nova
Scotia. Many of the stories are original, sent to her by the readers of
her first volume, Some Canadian Ghosts. Poltergeists, premonitions, and
omens of death are among the subjects of these stories, whose geographic
range is bound to bring the reality of ghosts home to every reader.
Hervey’s superb storytelling skills make Canada Ghost to Ghost
compulsive reading.
