“Never cry over spilt milk—it could have been whiskey.” “Facts
are like cattle breeds—everybody’s got their own opinion on
’em.” “You can’t tell what way the train went by looking at the
railroad tracks.”
These are just a few of the sayings found in this little book of cowboy
philosophy. (And indeed it is little, measuring three inches by five
inches.) The quotations have been gathered over two decades and do
represent “the wit and wisdom of the West.” Readers will find it a
quaint and entertaining read.
