Review

Wise words from TV’s Red Green: “If a tree falls in the woods and
nobody hears the lumberjack yell ‘Timber’ does the guy it lands on
make a sound?” The Red Green Book reads like a couple of episodes of
TV’s The Red Green Show committed to paper. It is all here—Possum
Lodge, Adventures with Bill, Handyman Corner, Ranger Gord, Old Man
Sedgewick, and, of course, Red’s geeky nephew Harold. The book also
contains photographs, drawings, and a crossword puzzle with a
difference. The whole, not surprisingly to those who follow Red
Green’s adventures, is held together with plentiful quantities of duct
tape. As with the television program, there is no discernible order or
theme—just snippets of Red’s unique wit and peculiar wisdom.

As with most books derived from a popular television show, Red Green
works better in the original medium. Nevertheless, this book is sure to
elicit a chuckle or two, and Red Green’s many fans will definitely
enjoy it. More wise words from Red Green: “There is no safe way to
operate a weed whacker in the nude.”
