Review

This excellent guidebook is filled with useful and entertaining
knowledge. In fact, it should serve as a model for any travel guide.
Thirty-five trails in four areas around Whitehorse are described in
detail. There is a wealth of supplementary material; the maps are
first-rate, and ample references are given to the detailed topographic
maps. A glossary, a very useful index, and a bibliography fill out the
book. The sepia color of the print and the photographs is the one burr
under the saddle, however, making the print hard to read and diminishing
the photographs. Nevertheless, for those who live in or plan to visit
the Whitehorse area, this is an essential book.
