Review

This well-organized book provides a good overview of canoe routes,
history, and wildlife in the Northwest Territories along a number of
major river systems. Veteran canoeists will especially appreciate the
book’s discussion of seasonal water fluctuation rates. Accompanying
each of the potential trips are useful maps and photographs. Discussion
of shorter (say, week-long) routes would have been useful. Nevertheless,
this book is a great resource for anyone planning a trip into the Far
North.
