Review

Intended for parents and their children, this series of books presents
simple activities that serve to reinforce concepts and skills students
pick up in the classroom. Included with each single-page activity are a
brief introduction, a statement of purpose, a list of materials, the
activities themselves, and a reflection sheet. Instructive and
open-ended, the activities are geared toward encouraging younger
children to develop awareness of their world. Most draw upon common,
everyday experiences and can be carried out without elaborate
preparation. Serving as a valuable link between home and school, this
series is an ideal resource to turn to when the kids have nothing to do.
