Review

In this excellent guide to choosing, buying, planting, and caring for
trees and shrubs, the author shares with us his expert knowledge of more
than 350 varieties of woody plants, all suitable for gardens in cold
climates. He divides the plants into five categories and provides for
each item information on plant hardiness zone, height, spread,
propagation method, and soil/location preference. Good points and bad
points are clearly outlined. An index of common names directs readers to
the botanical name and the description within the book. Recommended for
public-library collections.
